Project

Development of the inception report and Phase One for the WASH Severity Index
Year : 2019 - 2021

The objective is to support the Global WASH Cluster (GWC) and UNICEF as cluster lead agencies in the development of an International Phased Classification (IPC) system for the WASH humanitarian coordination platforms to fulfill their key functions of response planning in an evidence-driven manner.

The overall aim is to improve WASH response, with two specific objectives: better strategic targeting and prioritization within and across crisis, as well as (b) timely course-correction and rapid response through stronger needs monitoring and early warning systems.

CHC aims to support the inception of Phase One (develop an alpha-version of the WASH Severity Index). The inception phase will result in an inception report, which will outline key recommendations for the development of the WSI, both from technical and process perspectives
