LMC Prepositioning and ASAL(Arid and Semi-Arid Lands ) Strategy Development
Director of CHC, Nancy Balfour, worked in partnership with Mercy Corps Kenya to develop a strategy for their programming in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) of Kenya. This was a contributory framework to the overall country program and was intended to be implemented using a resilience approach and adapted to the risk context in each county. The work also involved support to the writing team developing the concept for Mercy Corps proposal to USAID to lead the AA2; Strengthening Community Capacity for Resilient Growth.
CHC’s specific purpose in this assignment was to : 1) Pre-position for future resilience-oriented opportunities , specifically REGAL , that will be focused on the ASALs and ; 2) Provide assistance to the country team in information gathering , analysis , and a strategy development in the ASAL’S
